1. How Rettenberg hooks the reader is by describing his lifestyle and how his dad feels. What is happening is that the different lifestyles are changing and his dad is worried about how they are changing and what will happen to his son.
2. Some specifics that Rittenberg use to emphasize how older generations saw horrible things in their lifetimes is by describing the different generations such as internet and a cure for AIDS.
3. Rittenberg use specifics to demonstrate his hopefulness by describing the different generations and how our generation will get worse such as the middle east finding peace.
4. He uses the tittle to prove his point by at the end he said that his father would always say tomorrow will be a better day and then he wanted to say that to his father when he was angry. Also Rettenberg described the different situations in the different generations such as killer flu, segregation, and a nuclear bomb.
